I love and miss the feeling of the first night of being in your not-yet-furnished-or-unpacked new house. The blinds haven't been installed yet, so all of the windows are exposed and the moonlight's pouring in. The whole place echoes and smells like fresh paint and wood. There are boxes everywhere and the beds aren't set up yet so you have to sleep on the floor with your family. My parents and I spent our first nights in our new houses on the floor of the living room. I think each time we've ordered Chinese take-out.

I miss those days.

I think I wouldn't mind Bobby Flay so much if he wasn't such a jerk. Or he can call his show... "I'm Bobby Flay, and I'm Super! Let Me Show You!" He gets to meet some really interesting people and I wish it could be more about the person and their food. Make it a competition if he wants to, but make it less of a "let's see how much of a douche Bobby Flay can be" competition. I understand that a lot of chefs tend to be full of it.. but really.. it's really really annoying. His guests keep it from being as stupid of a show as My Super Sweet Sixteen. They don't relate, no.. but they're equally annoying.

I mean really... What is it that he's trying to compensate for? Oh gee, I wonder.

Bobby... just shut up and cook the damn food. It's not all these other people's fault for having moms who didn't put you down and make fun of your clitoris of a penis. I'm sorry. I don't mean to be a jerk myself, but ah! He brings the ugly out in me. I don't like that either. I just want to enjoy the recipes, but Bobby goes out of his way to make it .. un-fun for everyone. Is it really that necessary? I want to like him. People say he's a great cook.

On the contrary... I do love watching him once he's been defeated. He looks soooo defeated. Perhaps he does all of this so that people will keep watching the show just to watch him lose? Maybe? In that case, bravo.

Yes, the title itself is awesome. Liz and I just watched Pleasantville and decided that we need to look up what other movies Gary Ross wrote for/directed. First thing we see is "Tokyo Suckerpunch". Read the brief synopsis, the main character is a JAPANOPHILE (also known as a "weeaboo" or "wapanese" in today's culture)! YES! It has to be hilarious. The movie is still in production, so be on the lookout.

If you're wondering, Gary Ross is the guy who did Seabiscuit and Big.

Fortunately for me, I was indoors and sleeping when this happened. I'm surprised the gunfire didn't get my attention. I didn't even know about this until the next day.:

Luckily, no one else was injured during this incident and luckily I didn't have class that night. Not that I would've taken that route, anyway. I find it kind of amazing that no one caught a glimpse of what the guys looked like or what the license plate was. Well, hopefully someone did get a good look at the guys. Road rage? One of the victims is said to have a 58+ page long criminal record as well as involvement in a shooting... I'm sorry, being that this took place right around the corner from North Avenue--which, might I add, is not the safest place in the world--and that one of the victims has a beefy criminal background... I think it might be too early to label this as some form of "extreme road rage". "Extreme" I'll take, but "road rage"... I don't know. Then again, I know that they can't jump to conclusions without enough proof, etc.
Let's say that this unfortunate event WAS a result of road rage... holy crap. That is some serious road rage. It's.. ridiculous! Think before you piss someone off. You never know, they might have a gun.. or a knife.. or some deadly knuckles.. I don't know. Be street smart. Make sure you don't give people a wrong look.. It might be better all together to not even give eye contact or anything... I don't know.
Anyway... I'm glad that no one else was hurt.

White Day & Black Day

In Japan and South Korea they celebrate what they call "White Day". On Valentines Day the lady gives her man (or woman) chocolates. Fantastic. Well a month later (that would be March 14th), the man (or said woman) returns the favor with edible/non-edible gifts or white chocolates, etc. Very cute.

I don't really care about that. What I care about more is "Black Day". This is celebrated in South Korea two months after Valentines Day (that's April 14th). This is when the singles, the losers, those who didn't receive the box of chocolates go out and eat a hefty bowl of the ever so DEELICIOUS "Jajangmyeon" (짜장면). Jajangmyeon is the Korean noodle dish that originated from the Chinese dish, Zhajiang mian. It's basically noodles in black bean sauce. Follow the link and find out what the details are.
It's definitely much much MUCh tastier than chocolates. I love chocolates and let me tell you... chocolates can't beat the wonderful tastyness of the jjajangmyeon.

There's a website called RealDoll. The idea of a sex doll that can do all kinds of poses and look pretty real is pretty creepy to me. Anyway, we spent the last hour looking at all of the pictuers. The funniest of all were here and here. These albums were found at Real Doll Doctor. The dolls get vagina, hip, neck, head, foot, wrist, butt, and other surgeries.
Now, don't assume that these dolls are only used for sex... Filmmakers, artists, scientists, health professionals, etc. use these dolls.

I found this blog called, "Indexed" at Quizlaw. Jolly, fun stuff. She use charts and math equations and the like that many of us hated in highschool to make fun of or make sense of things. Being an art student, I MISS MATH SO MUCH. She has combined visuals and math to tell me something interesting or to tell me a joke. I couldn't be more pleased. It's like eating your most favorite and the moist cake that you really are starting to believe that you could never get sick of it. Or whatever delightful food you enjoy, it's like that. If you're not a fan of food.. whatever tickles you in that way that makes you giggle and squirm and make you feel every so giddy.
PS I miss index cards. I should start using them more often. Hm... use it for an idea for senior thesis?

I don't know if you guys ever knew about Judge Roy Pearson who sued a Korean dry cleaners for misplacing his pants. In case you didn't.. a very very very brief recap: he sued them for $54 million. He lost. Well, no shit.
Anyway.. this Tuesday he appealed his lawsuit against them.
The Chung family received a donation of $85,000 from a sympathetic public.
Might Pearson lose his job? Yes. Yes he might(better). I mean.. surely they wouldn't reappoint HIM of all people.
Oh, and that lawsuit? It used to be at $67 million.
Ok well, since you all know that I am the most articulate and the best story teller of all the land, I'm going to just direct you to a Wikipedia article about the whole deal. Yes, it's even on Wikipedia.

Farewell Scott, See You in a Year!

This is Scott and his brother, Alex. The last time I saw Alex he was half the height he is now.
I hung out with a really great friend of mine all day today. Scott invited me to have dinner with him at his house with his cousin, Cara. They made a pasta dish and a vegetable dish. Both were AMAZING. To DIE for. They talked about their family and their families' history and that took aaaaaaaaaaaall night. Interesting things I learned about their family tonight. I was so entertained by the way they interacted. Quite a pair, QUITE a pair. It's heartbreaking that we can't do it again for another year.
One of my favorite things to do during summer was to hang out with Scott and we were definitely due for a date. It feels like it's been years since we've seen each other. I alwyas feel great after seeing him.
On Wednesday, Scott's leaving for Egypt for a year. I hope that he'll be safe and that he'll be returned unharmed. I'll miss him terribly.
His cousin, Cara, though very different, reminded me a lot of my cousin, Robin. I believe they're the same age, too. I thought that was weird. I didn't realize the age similarity until I got back home. I miss Robin, a lot. Wear your seatbelts, everyone. I will come by myself and kill you if you don't.
Cara and I are planning on going to Great Adventure. I think it's Great Adventure.. Whatever, all that matters is that we're going to an amusement park. I can't wait.

My mom got her own external today! Very exciting. It's a Western Digital 500GB harddrive called, MyBook. Right now, Costco is having a sale on a few harddrives. Those with a Costco membership should go check it out. We got the MyBook for $159.99 (with a $10.00 rebate) and I noticed on the website it's $200+.
There was a Seagate 1TB one. I reeeally wanted that one. Do I need all of that space? Why.. no. Not really, but it's kind of like saying, "hey, mine's bigger than yours." Well.. not really that either; I don't really care about that. But it's a fun thought. It makes you feel like a bigger person; perhaps instead, a bigger idiot. it is unnecessarily huge. It's like wanting a Hummer. Except, I hate Hummers. So, maybe I don't really want a 1TB harddrive. Maybe, I just like the idea of saying "I have a 1 TERABYTE harddrive.". People will be in awe and say, "wow, bagel. you're so asian and small and yet your harddrive is huge!". That sounds a bit weird. To that I might say, "yes, I may be small, but I am chubby and so is the harddrive".
ANYWAY. I think this MyBook might end up being mine and, once restored, my mom might take my old 230GB one. I don't think I will purchased refurbished machines anymore. You just can't trust it.
Going back to the fat bit. I need to work out some. Shrink some horizontally.

I think, by far, this movie has been the best movie I've ever seen in theaters. The Simpsons Movie was, from the very first second to the very last, exquisite. If you didn't see the premiere of this movie, then shame on you - go see it now. It's late and I'm tired, so this is all I'm going to say.

Go see it. Buy the DVD. Then buy the Special Edition DVD. Then watch the DVD's over and over and over and over again.

Not too long ago I ran into trailers for this Korean animated film, Aachi and Ssipak. CRAZIEST action ever and ridiculous synopsis.
Lots of fecal matter and highly addictive popsicles involved.

Ryoo, Seung Wan does the voice for the redhead (Aachi)

Lim, Chang Jung does the voice for the baldy (Ssipak). That movie right there is really good. Called... Miracle on 1st Street.

There are SO many new things that I wish I could have for, I don't know.. for my birthday? this year. Sadly, I don't ask for anything for my birthday. Rather, I never liked to ask for anything for my birthday, but boooooy do I really want to ask for things now. I guess there are several reasons why I don't like to ask for anything for my birthday: my parents do enough for me, their love and support is more than enough, and (with friends) I don't want to have to return the favor (selfish and stingy, I know. well, it's more the laziness that's the problem, and yeah.. a good hunk of stingy). I wish my relatives had saved the Christmas/Birthday gift giving for now, when I need it most. Except.. no one really has any money nowadays.
If it wasn't for the Korean War my family would be rich. It's cool to know that my mom's side of the family WAS filthy stinkin' rich at some point.
Anyway... I want:
1. Canon digital SLR (I'm going to buy that for myself, though, once I make the money)
2. PS3
3. A new Mac computer. Not having Intel is starting to get to me and I'm starting to worry that my laptop might crash on me. Also, I want a computer that's for work and one that's for play. I wish I wish I wish.
4. A big scanner and a decent Epson printer. We've been stupidly buying cheapo HP hunks of crap at Costco. Bad idea, as I've mentioned earlier on my blog. Well.. I guess a printer doesn't really matter, but a scanner would be sweet.
5. A bigger, newer Wacom tablet. Just cause that would be awesome.

I think that's about it. I wish I was made out of money. I should've gone to a liberal arts community college. I didn't need to waste my parents' money on MICA. They could've retired by now, too. What I really should have done was worked and worked and worked to make enough money to be able to afford all of those things. Once again: lazy. The New Year's resolution I always make is to work harder and not be so lazy.
Santa Claus should've been real. I mean.. I'll build him a HUUUGE ass chimney and a landing zone for his reindeer if that's what it takes for him to get to my house.
